If you do have a question that can't be answered on the website pages or in the Terms & Conditions info below before making a purchase just use the "contact me" form to ask.
"Rural Retro", "we" "us" and "our" means Jacs Collins who operates Rural Retro as a sole trader. "You" or "your" means the relevant or potential customer.
"working days" are defined as Monday to Friday 11am - 5pm excluding Bank Holidays.

How To Make A Purchase
In order to make a purchase using this website you will need to complete the following steps:
- Click "add to basket" for an item you would like to buy and then proceed to checkout.
- The postage charge if applicable will be added and the total cost displayed. Select your payment method to pay online via Paypal or send your payment by post. Enter your billing address which needs to be the same as your paypal address where your item will be delivered to.
- Once you have reviewed your order information, click "confirm and pay"
- You will then be transferred to the paypal website if paying online, who will securely handle your payment for your purchase.
- You will see a page acknowledging your order once you have completed your secure payment and receive an automated email confirmation which contains your order reference number.
- Once I have checked your order information I will send you a further email within 3 working days to confirm your order has been accepted and your item dispatched. If you do not receive confirmation that I have accepted your order & dispatched your item within 3 working days please contact me.
Price & Payments
The price you will pay is quoted in the item description. The postage charge where applicable is added at the checkout. I include free postage for delivery in the UK on some items and where this applies it is clearly stated in the item description. A guide to my current postage charges is on the website "delivery & postage" page.
Overseas buyers will need to contact me by email to place an order and I only accept payment by paypal in sterling for overseas buyers.
In the unlikely event an item has been incorrectly priced due to an administration or technical error I will tell you before dispatching the item and give you the opportunity to either cancel your order or accept the corrected price.
I use Royal Mail signed for service that requires a signature on receipt of your parcel. You will need to allow a maximum of 9 working days for delivery of orders placed via the website and I will tell you once an item has been dispatched.
I will dispatch your item to the billing address you entered at the checkout. I can not be held responsible if an incorrect address or postcode has been supplied. I can not be held responsible if nobody is available to sign for your item when it arrives and you fail to re-arrange delivery directly with the carrier who will leave you instructions for doing this. If an item is returned to me under these circumstances then I will charge you the additional cost to re-dispatch.
I use best endeavours to deliver your items within these stated timescale. It is possible that events outside of my control can occur, such as parcels going astray, postal delays or breakages. If I have notified you that your item has been dispatched and it fails to arrive within 5 working days or has been damaged in transit then please contact me and I will use a fair and reasonable approach to resolve the problem to your satisfaction.
You have the right to cancel your order by writing to me within 14 working days after the day you receive your item. If you cancel on this basis, you must inform me in writing, prior to returning the item, providing the order number, your name & address, and reason for return. Items returned by you, within 14 working days after you notify me you wish to cancel your order will be refunded in full. Please note, you will be responsible for paying the cost of returning the item to me and are responsible for the item until it's safe return to me, so I strongly recommend you use a recorded delivery service to return the item.
If you cancel on this basis and you do not return the items to me, I may recover the item and charge you for the costs I incur in doing so. Similarly, if you return the item at my expense, I may pass that expense on to you.
Please note, some items sold on Rural Retro might not be eligible for return for practical reasons and where this is the case it clearly states in the item description "no returns".
Genuine Vintage Items - these items are likely to have wear consummate with their age. (I believe this adds to their unique charm). Rural Retro take care to describe the general observed condition and provide images to aid descriptions. Please note that toys and games are not suitable for children as they are sold as collectors items and do not comply to today's safety regulations.
Please also be aware that different computer screens can display slight differences in images such as colour and may not be 100% accurate.
If an item has been significantly mis-described or new goods are faulty then please contact me within 30 days of receiving the item. In this event, a full refund, including the outward and return postage costs will be made.
If you cancel your order, I will refund any money received from you using the same method originally used by you to pay for your purchase. I aim to process refunds as quickly as possible and, in any event, within 14 days of receiving back the returned item.
When you make a payment via the Rural Retro website at no time is your financial information shared with us or stored by us as the method used to process your payment is external to this website using Paypal who use a high level of encryption to protect your critically sensitive payment information.
